Miami house and disco, deep and minimal by night.
Mad Radio Miami opened in December 2023 on the ground floor of the Gold Dust Motel in the MiMo District, the mid-century strip along Biscayne Boulevard, in a rose-red room that had been Don's 5 Star Dive Bar, with the Little River a few steps from the door. Mad Records Café took the floor above. That same month the motel became a design venue for Art Basel week, with Mad Radio cohosting a run of nights that opened three days before the fair did, and the later Mad Records site in Medellín was billed as following Miami's lead.
House and disco are what the DJs mostly play on the floor, and between sets the stream turns deeper and more minimal. Every set in the room is filmed and goes out live on the station, Wednesday to Saturday from nine until three as a rule. Wednesdays started as local nights, where someone could take the decks for the first time and go home with a recording of the set.
