De naald wordt afgestoft…
Half counter-information, half record collection.
The first broadcast went out from via dei Volsci in San Lorenzo on 24 May 1977, and it was a technical one: the people who had physically built the transmitter did the talking, on the principle that manual and intellectual work should not be split. Militants of Rome's autonomia operaia had put it together, and it refused the label free radio for militant radio, drawing its people from the borgate — San Basilio, Primavalle, Tufello, Magliana, the Pigneto — and from La Sapienza.
A long press review opens each weekday morning, and the music is slotted between the redazionali. More Fire takes reggae, Split hip-hop, Salt Peanuts jazz, Blues Power the blues, Prove Tecniche di Trasmissione electronics and industrial, and Militant Dub Area closes the weekend. Late nights belong to electronic music, in Notturno elettronico and a long Saturday rotation.
The 1977 that never stopped.
