De naald wordt afgestoft…
Classic house, deep dub and local internet rap.
Two Canberrans launched it on 21 June 2026: Aakanksha Sidhu, an artist manager and promoter at MusicACT, and Jordan Harrison, a DJ who already ran the Trust Café Club. They funded it themselves, borrowed equipment and experience from thirty-odd volunteers, and pointed it at a specific problem — that the city's musicians keep leaving for Sydney and Melbourne. The models they name are FBi in Sydney, Skylab and Area 3000 in Melbourne, NTS in London and Box Out FM in Delhi. Hosting is open to anyone, no experience needed.
It has never actually been on FM. More than fifty shows run out of the café at 131 City Walk, and the spread is the argument: Pon Fe Hi-Fi gives thanks to reggae, Snares That I Like takes dubstep and 140, Southern Oscillation works through drone and electroacoustic tape, Gunk handles sludge, The Midnight Download does psytrance, and r00ts radio curates hyperlocal internet rap.
Canberra after the offices close.
