Eeeven...
De naald wordt afgestoft…
Seaside kitsch wrapped around jungle and footwork.
It started in 2017 in a flat on Palangos gatvė in Vilnius, and the street name stuck even after the studio moved across town. Palanga is also a faded resort town on the Lithuanian coast, and the radio leaned all the way into that: amateur holiday-postcard artwork fronts every episode, the joke and the visual identity at once. Run as a non-profit on volunteers and community donations, it co-founded the Independent Community Radio Network in 2022 and joined the Reset! network of European cultural organisations a year later.
The archive is past 2,500 episodes and leans on the fast end — jungle and drum and bass from Cr-edit aka Doctah Jahngle, breakbeat on BREAKBEAK, footwork, dub on Transmissions from the Underworld — with jazz, soul and a thick block of talk shows filling the rest. It has also put on more than a hundred live events: roller discos, daytime raves, mini-FM gatherings.
