De naald wordt afgestoft…
Jungle, breakcore, and amen breaks after midnight.
A Dijon collective started it at the end of 2019 and gave it one job: the fast end of the underground, and nothing else. Live shows go out weekly with residents and guests from France, Britain and the United States, and every one of them is kept — the archive has passed two and a half thousand mixes. The same people run Underground Lair Recordings, eighteen-odd releases deep, and keep a secondhand record shop going beside the radio station, over on Discogs. A chatroom sits alongside the stream for the live shows.
What that means in practice is jungle, drum and bass, breakbeat, breakcore, hardcore and the techno that borders them, usually at length: the Blueprint Sessions can run past two hours without a pause. Artists from the label turn up on air about as often as they do on the catalogue, so the radio doubles as the clearest way to hear where Underground Lair Recordings is heading.
Built for the bass-obsessed.
