Hooold...
Dusting off the needle…
Indie and experimental, plus the Latin rock canon.
NoEsFm was founded in Venezuela in 2012 by Javier Gómez, a producer who had spent the nineties presenting La Cuna, a programme built around Latin rock, and who wanted somewhere the independent scene could be heard past its own borders. It has since become a station and a music desk at once, with columnists filing from Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Chile and Venezuela, and in 2019 it took the Promocode prize in Europe as the year's most influential independent platform. RFI and PortalDisc are among its partners.
The programming runs to indie, experimental and alternative, with the Latin American rock canon threaded through it, so an eighties Spanish new-wave record can land between new independent releases. Dream pop, psychedelia and rock en español get equal footing, artists submit through Groover and are promised an answer, and the same selection carries into the station's Spotify lists.
Fourteen years, ear to the ground.
