Indie rock and synthpop from artists with no label.
Indie Perú Radio began in 2020 as a platform rather than a station: a digital project run out of Miraflores in Lima by iMedia Perú, set up to give emerging musicians somewhere to be heard when the commercial circuit would not have them. The remit runs from Peru through Latin America to wherever else the music comes from, and the plan goes further than airplay — artist interviews, coverage of independent festivals, and a standing offer to connect musicians with the people who programme them.
Four programmes carry names of their own — IndieManiacos, Indie News, Generación Indie and Un Día Como Hoy — and between them the rotation moves through Camilo Séptimo, Lanza Internacional and Chonati into Drakulas, Matt Springfield and The Get Alongs. Mexican, Peruvian, American and British acts inside a single hour, and not one of them on a major.
Lima's answer to the gatekeepers.
