Dub across sixty years, analogue to future bass.
dr_dick's dub shack has been broadcasting from Bermuda since 1999, which makes it older than most of the platforms that carry its stream. It runs ad-free on listener donations, with a remit its own strapline states plainly: version, dub, remixes, ten inches and twelve inches — the analogue dub reggae of the sixties and seventies, the digidub of the eighties and nineties, and whatever steppas and bass music have turned into since. An archive of its top tunes goes back as far as 2010.
The selection moves across all of that inside an hour: seventies roots vocals off a ten-inch pre-release, eighties dub collectives and their horn sections, roots classics reworked by modern dub crews, steppers out of New Zealand, and newer names carrying no label at all. Station idents cut in between, credited simply to rob, and the stream comes off the operator's own machine rather than a hosted playlist.
Echo, space, and nothing else.
