Kompa, rap kreyol and dancehall from the margins.
HMI Radio broadcasts to the Haitian underground and the diaspora that carries it, on a commitment it states in both languages: to give underground artists the recognition they deserve. The submissions inbox doubles as the programming department — artists send tracks in and they go into rotation, which is why the playlist runs from finished studio records to files whose metadata is still lowercase. Alongside the stream an editorial desk files pieces for independent artists on royalties, publishing splits, platform terms and AI.
Kompa and zouk sit with rap kreyol, dancehall, soca, R&B and afrobeats, and the spread of who gets played is the argument: Manno Charlemagne and Yanick Etienne in one stretch, Joé Dwèt Filé and Wyclef Jean in another, then a bedroom cover credited to whoever happened to record it. Nothing is framed as a find the station made. The artists sent it in themselves, and it went on.
Unsigned gets the same hour.
