SINK is an editorial radio service from Utrecht. We select live stations by hand, listen to each one before it is listed, and build the applications they are heard through.

Live radio is still the most direct way to hear what a city, a scene or a single host cares about. The services around it have not kept up. Most are directories that list everything and vouch for nothing, paid for by advertising, with software that was never designed for listening. SINK is built to give radio the service it deserves.

Our aim is to reinvent internet radio: a listening experience as considered as the best music applications, that keeps what makes a live broadcast worth hearing, the people behind it and the chance of being surprised. SINK is on the web and the iPhone, with CarPlay; the next platforms are on the Apps page.

Every station on SINK is chosen by an editor and listened to long enough to understand what it does. Each carries a short note explaining why it is there. Stations that run commercial advertising are not listed, and the catalog grows only as fast as we can listen.

SINK is funded by its subscribers and by nothing else. It carries no advertising and sells no data about you.

SINK was founded by Marko Stanojevic and Ivona Stanojevic. Marko, founder and CEO, leads product and engineering, from what belongs in the catalog to how the applications are built. Ivona, co-founder and head of editorial, has the final word on how SINK reads. A wider group of editors and translators works with them on the catalog and on the six languages SINK is published in, and those roles are being formalised as the company grows.
