Back-to-back techno mixes, mostly hard and after dark.
Techno.FM has been broadcasting from Montreal since at least 2005, when its first homepage was little more than a link to the stream and an apology that the site wasn't ready. It billed itself as one of the first online stations for underground music, and early residents included the local DJ Skitch, whose weekly Dirty Funkin' show ran for more than five years. By 2009 it had hosts in other cities as well, among them St. Marc, who sent a weekly techno show from Miami Beach, and it has kept residents scattered across several countries since.
The stream runs on shows rather than playlists. Station residents such as Fernanda Martins, Anita, Claire-voyant and Richie Q, who plays live, sit beside long-running label podcasts and weekly mix series, and the episodes follow one another around the clock. Most of it is techno in its hypnotic, acid-leaning and industrial forms, with a weekly tech house hour from one of the label shows.
Still here, still four on the floor.
