Unhurried songs for desks, kitchens and late nights.
The Mellow Mix is the quiet side of Radio Paradise, the listener-supported station that Bill Goldsmith, a radio man since the early seventies, and his wife Rebecca began in February 2000 from their home in Paradise, California, the town that gave it its name. As the station grew from a single eclectic stream into a family of channels, the Mellow Mix took the gentler records, songs with a more relaxing tone drawn from the same hand-built library the team uses for its flagship.
Expect singer-songwriters and acoustic folk, from classic voices to young indie-folk bands, with soul ballads, a little reggae and gentle instrumental pieces between them. The pace stays slow and the sequencing careful, older favourites rubbing shoulders with records barely a year old, and like every Radio Paradise channel it carries no presenters and no commercials.
