Music and conversation about the world we're heading for.
Radio 2050 is the newest and most talkative of the Radio Paradise channels, launched in January 2024 with eight episodes and a plan to add one a week. It is hosted and produced by Alanna Jane Goldsmith, who took over Rebecca Goldsmith's role at the station her father Bill started from Paradise, California, in 2000, and the hour-long episodes are also carried as a weekly show by other stations. Alanna has said her own part on air is small, leaving the room to her guests and the music.
Each hour is about the future, built from five-to-ten-minute conversations with people working on it, from rainforest conservationists and ecologists to therapists and a Burning Man co-founder, with songs chosen to answer each segment. The music runs from folk and indie to ambient, jazz and classic soul, and like everything on Radio Paradise the episodes carry no commercials.
Hope, with a good soundtrack.
