Jahpawa had been DJing since 1996 — gabber and techno first, then roots and dub — when a decade in the south of England put him behind the decks at Croydon's Black Sheep Bar and on air as a guest at Kool FM, Reprezent and subFM. That taste for radio followed him home, and in 2020 he started Jungle Planet Radio as a project under Radio Locali d'Italia. It has since become a cultural association registered in Bologna, run by Jahpawa alongside Domprod, Frasta and Matha, with a roster of a dozen residents.

Programming runs around the clock and splits along the scene's own lines: Foundation digs into classic jungle, Jazzy Note traces intelligent drum and bass through Goldie and Roni Size, Just Liquid handles the softer rollers, and Dubthingz is Jahpawa's own dubstep hour. Bass Files Italia puts Italian DnB figures on air, and mixes arrive by WeTransfer from anyone who sends one.
