jungletrain.net went on air in December 2001, when a listener set up a Shoutcast server for the plain reason that he wanted to hear a DJ he liked, and other DJs started showing up to use it. That accident hardened into one of the longest-running stations on the internet: more than two decades of live drum & bass sent out from spare rooms and home studios, with a chat room attached whose rules ask people to respect the DJ, keep links to themselves during a show, and take the arguing elsewhere.

The grid runs to more than fifty shows a week, broadcast from Wolverhampton, Utrecht, Brooklyn, Naas, Columbus and Überlingen, with a jukebox covering the gaps. Labels keep their own hours — Equinox on Scientific Wax, Code on Subtle Audio — the oldskool end is held open by Tim Reaper and Dev/Null, and a sound-system strand runs through Stand Firm Hi-Fi and One Love.
