Tango, folklore and sound art from a Córdoba arts centre.
Radio Eterogenia is the online station of the Centro Cultural España Córdoba, a joint venture between the city of Córdoba and Spain's international development agency, and it picked its launch date deliberately: 17 May 2010, World Internet Day, at a point when online radio was still a novelty in Argentina. The remit written then has held since — radio production treated as a form in its own right, built on the concepts of sound art, and pitched at whoever is making something new.
The grid runs from late morning to past midnight and changes register every hour. Postales Gardelianas works through the golden-age tango songbook; Siembra Folklórica keeps the folklore going; Eslok3ai is a live weekly on hip-hop culture; Aire Canción carries Argentine songwriters; and Cartografías Sonoras de Córdoba builds its pieces out of recorded sound.
On air since Internet Day, 2010.
