Club-ready tech house and techno, mixed by working DJs.
Data Transmission Radio is the round-the-clock station of Data Transmission, a UK dance music website that Grahame Farmer has run since its launch on 1 February 2008, his love of the music going back to mid-nineties rave culture. The radio went live at midday on 31 March 2017 with a resident team drawn from the site's DJ friends, labels and event brands, and its first live takeover streamed from the Brighton Music Conference. The wider outfit also runs several record labels and a long-running Monday mix series.
Tech house is the biggest single strand, with house, deep and funky house, deep tech and disco house close behind, and techno running from melodic to peak time and hardgroove. Residents record their own weekly, fortnightly or monthly shows, syndicated label and artist shows fill out the week, and drum and bass, jungle, UK garage and breaks turn up on a smaller set of programmes.
