Aspeeetta...
Spolveriamo la puntina…
Field recordings and late-night talk, beamed off a roof.
It began as a workshop. The American sound artist Eric DeLuca ran one on community radio at the artist-run LungA School in 2016, introducing Lasse Høgenhof to Jonatan Spejlborg Juelsbo in the process, and the two of them simply carried on broadcasting after everyone else went home. The radio-room is in the Herðubreið community centre and the signal goes out on 107.1. It later joined the Independent Community Radio Network, and works with The Lake Radio in Copenhagen and Hong Kong Community Radio.
The grid is unlike anyone else's: 4AM 4EVER runs two and a half hours before dawn, the quotation mark collection gets exactly six minutes a day, and a joke hotline takes calls at lunchtime. Radio School has spent an afternoon reading an American avant-garde poet aloud, and schoolchildren once gathered soundbites in the supermarket. Hundreds of recordings sit in the archive, and Lasse would rather they stayed rough.
Small town, wide antenna.
