Cumbia, field recordings and vinyl digs from Bogotá.
Radio Estruendo Tinansucá went on air in May 2025 out of Bogotá, calling itself a free, mobile and experimental radio built on low-cost hardware and open-source software. It runs as a network of autonomous nodes — Tinansucasa for vinyl and cassettes, Sabana Alta for Colombian traditional music, a Nodo Experimental for sound art, a mobile unit — each producing and transmitting its own programmes. The transmitters come from the same mensajito.mx project that put Radio Nopal on air in Mexico City.
A handful of programmes hold fixed slots. Retratos Cantados follows cumbia's route across Latin America; Diggin' with Dom is a weekly vinyl dig; Aguará Guazú builds each episode around one recording of ritual or folkloric music from a remote territory; Ondanza Presenta improvises around electronic music and much that is not electric; Cuando Pase el Temblor takes on autonomy and organising.
Loud on purpose, small by design.
