Jazz-funk, neo soul and jazzy house before the club opens.
Mad Records grew up beside the bars as the group's record-shop side: a café in Miami's Gold Dust Motel first, then a Medellín site in Astorga in November 2024 with a café, a lo-fi bar and a store for funk, disco, jazz and soul, and later a record lab inside the New York room. The channel carries that daylight end of Mad Radio, the unhurried afternoons the group runs often enough to have named them Coffee Parties. It travels too: in June 2025 it took over a bar in Roma Norte, Mexico City, from two in the afternoon until three the next morning.
Jazz-funk and modern jazz hold one end of it and soulful, jazz-inflected house the other, with contemporary R&B and neo soul in between and a few boogie records for the turn. A good share of it is played by real bands, organ trios and horn sections with a drummer in the room, while the house records keep a steady pulse running under the whole afternoon.
The bin the DJs raid first.
