Jazz-funk, soul and boogie from the house crates.
Mad Records is the one channel in the group with no room of its own. It runs out of the Medellin operation Leo Herrera founded in 2017, alongside Mad Records Lab, and its brief is the daylight end of what the bars do — the unhurried afternoon sessions the group has held often enough to have named them Coffee Parties, where the floor opens while it is still light and nobody is expected to use it. It travels with the brand: in June 2025 it took over a bar in Roma Norte, Mexico City, from two in the afternoon until three the next morning.
Contemporary jazz-funk holds one end of it and vintage boogie, soul and gospel-tinged funk the other, with modern r&b bridging the two. What runs through all of it is live playing rather than programming — horn sections, a drum kit, a bass in the room. It is the most album-shaped of the six frequencies, and a fair amount of it would stop a dancefloor rather than start one.
The bin the DJs raid first.
