Daniel Nathan set up Platform B CIC in 2015, put the station online the following year, and got it onto 105.5 and DAB across the city on 1 October 2018. It works out of a unit in the Cobblers Thumb yard on New England Road, in the cultural quarter behind the railway station, and it is the younger half of a pair: Slack City takes the late hours and the odder records, while this one hands a show and a fader to people who have never sat behind either before and lets them work it out on air.

Electronic Now, Ambient Sounds and Girlbass Sessions cover the synthetic end, Annotated Soul and BAILARA the warmer one, and Eclectia earns its title; Sifter, Zoiced Radio and The Beach House Sessions fill in around them. Between the music sit strands the presenters brought in themselves: Spotlight on the Margin, Lyrical Lounge, and a two-part series on restorative justice.
