Espeeera...
Quitando el polvo a la aguja…
Underground dance from the south coast, DJ-first.
Fifteen Brighton DJs started it in 2010, on the straightforward complaint that local radio had nowhere to put the music they were actually playing. Hundreds have passed through since, and the presenter list now runs past forty. Not all of them broadcast from the Brighton studio either: shows have gone out from home setups, lofts, basements, garages and, on at least one occasion, a shed. The DAB signal has since run west along the coast to Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight.
House and tech house take the largest share, with techno, drum and bass, jungle, UK garage, breaks and disco filling out the rest, and the odd hour of soulful house or rare grooves besides. The station carries the same billing off air: a Friday takeover of the Moonshine Fandango stage at Elderflower Fields, and its own tent at Love on the Runway in Ramsgate.
The records come first.
