Samantha Lippett and James Prevett, both artists, built it in 2023 as a set of tools rather than a place: a battery-powered transmitter kit light enough to carry, which any member can borrow after a short induction and take to a gallery, a forest or the back of a bike trailer. It broadcast solidly through November 2023 from Forum Box in Helsinki and has run sporadically since, in monthly weekend bursts. The Kone Foundation paid for the start; it has been self-funded since, on donations.

The station is blunt about what it is not: no DJ mixes, no music playlists. What it takes instead is sound performance, book readings, interviews, long conversations and field recordings gathered into thematic playlists — and nothing, by its own rule, is too strange or too long. Anyone at all can borrow the kit, at any age and with no experience asked for.
