Italo, boogie and post-disco, pressed 1978-89.
Disco Fetish came on air with the rest of Intergalactic FM on 22 August 2008, when I-F moved his Hague operation off a single internet station and onto a network of them, giving the dance records a channel of their own. Stichting Hotmix has owned it ever since, funded by listeners rather than advertising, and the remit has barely shifted in the years since: Italo, disco and old school, cut through with mixes, one-off specials and live sets. An annual festival in The Hague has put the same selectors in a room since 2017.
An hour here runs almost entirely on twelve-inch singles pressed between 1978 and 1989 — euro disco with the strings still on, Milanese Italo built from one bassline and a drum machine, New York post-disco, and the European library and film-library cuts that somehow hold the same tempo. Nothing is hurried: records play out at their own length, and a mix lands on top of the rotation rather than replacing it.
Twelve inches at a time.
