Misk went on air at the end of 2016 on 106.9 across Grand Tunis, licensed and built by Innova Medias to a remit most Tunisian stations would consider a handicap: arts, cinema, theatre and music, and nothing outside that. The audience came anyway, on the strength of records that were not being played anywhere else on the dial. It covers the Carthage and Hammamet festivals as a matter of course, and keeps its studio out in Charguia rather than in the centre of town. Three Innova companies sit behind it.

Janoub Janoub works south to south — Afrobeat, bossa nova, and whatever is coming out of Nairobi, Bamako and Cairo — while Sahria fi Cherguia hands the evening to Tunisian DJs playing live, ZOHAL and Saber Boukchina among them. In the Ears Of puts a cultural figure in charge of an hour, and the arts desk brings its interviews back between the sets.
