Eeeven...
De naald wordt afgestoft…
Dream pop and trip-hop, breathy and after-dark.
Lush joined SomaFM in 2008, one of six channels the network added that year, eight years after Rusty Hodge moved the project from a micropower transmitter he had run at Burning Man to a full-time internet station in February 2000. It was the quiet end of an expansion that also brought Suburbs of Goa, Underground 80s and Digitalis, and like every other channel on the network it has run on listener money and carried no advertising at all in the seventeen years since it first launched.
The programming is dream pop, trip-hop and downtempo built around vocals — Hooverphonic, Goldfrapp, Flunk, Lovespirals and Madita — with Ibiza-lounge and electropop around the edges. Almost every track has a voice somewhere on it, which is the single constraint the channel actually keeps, and SomaFM calls it the most intimate stream they run.
Intimacy with a slow pulse.
