De naald wordt afgestoft…
Downtempo and chillout, most of it sent in unsolicited.
Moon Phase Radio has been on air since 1 January 2010, commercial free from the first day, funded privately and by whatever listeners choose to send. Its two channels split the station's promise of ambient and downtempo music between them, and Chill got the half that keeps a pulse running underneath. The whole thing is dressed in lunar imagery, including a registered office listed at coordinates on the Moon, but the operation behind it is one of steady listening and unglamorous sorting.
This channel takes the downtempo end, from lounge and mellow house to chillstep, synthwave and lo-fi, with the tempo kept conversational. Much of it comes in from the artists themselves, and the channel publishes its own weekly top ten, counted from listener behaviour. Tracks that arrive fresh get extra plays for a while, then settle into the rotation or quietly do not.
The lighter side of the moon.
