De naald wordt afgestoft…
Italo, broken beat and sleepless ambient, out of Minsk.
Radio Plato started in the autumn of 2018 in Minsk, out of a simple wish to put good records back into circulation — the lost ones, the forgotten ones, and the merely excellent. Within two years it had pulled in DJs, producers, dancers, podcasters and designers, and reframed itself as a magazine as much as a station, writing about the Belarusian scene for an audience well outside it. In November 2025 the authorities declared it extremist, and it has since warned listeners at home to mind their safety.
The day is cut into named blocks rather than hosted hours: Coffee House for flâneur soul, Italo Moda for proto-disco and nu wave, Break Fast for 2-step and broken rhythms, Electronic Adventures and Acid Hour for the club end, Kamaroŭka Dreaming for loud guitars, and Niamiha overnight. One stretch can run from soul-jazz organ into salsa and back out through Belarusian indie.
Declared extremist, still on air.
