Radio Tempo Não Pára started in 2018 as a mixtape one best friend recorded for another; the name, Portuguese for time does not stop, came from the initiator's mother and was meant as a claim about how long the friendship would last. The two kept making cassettes for friends, family and DJs they admired until it became clear that not everyone still owned a tape player, at which point the imaginary station went online and the community that formed around it turned it into a real one.

Downtempo runs through more of the schedule than anything else, with house, ambient, soul, dub and disco behind it across some fifty residents. Friday to Sunday the broadcasts come from the studio in Amsterdam Noord, and Sunday belongs entirely to makers under 28; donations cover the travel of anyone who cannot afford to get there. Talent in Bloom pairs them with mentors for a year.
