Malmö's independent music scene runs on small rooms and short-lived collectives, and Retreat is what happens when one of them builds a transmitter instead of a club night. It is non-commercial and unaffiliated, held up by a Patreon and by the residents themselves — people drawn from the city's own circuit and from Scandinavia and Europe beyond it, each handed a recurring slot and then largely left alone with it. Live shows go out daily, and the archive fills every hour between them so the signal never drops.

Sand Circles hosts Continuity, digital selves runs {.exe}, vio lino has g-string, and Archive of Voices, Belly of Rituals and Ordealia pull in directions the schedule makes no attempt to reconcile. Scaling began as a monthly broadcast here before turning into a roving concert series, and the station puts on club nights with the art society Skånes konstförening.
