REC went on air from Bogotá in 2010 with a plain remit: carry electronic music in every subgenre it arrives in, from house to hardcore, and give the country's own DJs, producers and performers somewhere to be heard. It is directed by Alex Jockey, a Bogotá techno producer working since 2007 who co-runs Techsound Records and keeps Yin Yang Studios going in the same city, and the station has kept that shape since — one director, a scene around him — rather than a staff and a format.

REConecta2 is the spine, past its 360th edition, handing an hour to a guest each time, usually a DJ or producer from Colombia's own scene. Around it Vectores Invisibles runs drum and bass with The Unseen Deep, Amazing Trance belongs to Jimmy Vega, and Retrospective Techno digs back to 1990. Sets recorded at Bogotrax and at terrace parties around the city fill the rest.
