Aspeeetta...
Spolveriamo la puntina…
Crust, flamenco, and synths from the Stéphanois hills.
It has held 89.5 in Saint-Étienne since 1981 and describes itself as libre, sauvage et impertinente. Volunteers make everything on it, and the station's tolerance for inconvenience is well tested: the FM signal once went down for weeks and only came back when the telephone company finally laid five hundred metres of fibre out to the transmitter. It belongs to Férarock, and takes part in the federation's live marathons, which run for thirty-five hours without a pause.
The shows are sorted by obsession rather than clock. La France Pue is a Stéphanois collective built on crust and engaged punk, Charb' on air handles drum and bass, jungle, dubstep and grime, Ghetto Vibes plays reggae off seven-, ten- and twelve-inch, Boogie takes blues and rock'n'roll, and Cultures sans Frontières covers Berber and Maghrebi music. Everything ends up archived.
Forty-five years, no house style.
