Aspeeetta...
Spolveriamo la puntina…
Early music to new music, programmed by volunteers.
A group of music lovers set up the Concertzender at the end of 1982, wanting a place where the music came first, where no lines were drawn between genres and styles, and where nothing was conceded to non-musical aims. It has kept that shape: a charity broadcasting around the clock from the Utrecht city centre, programmed almost entirely by volunteer editors working in desks for early music, classical, jazz, world and new music, and recording its own concerts through a unit of its own.
Baroque and contemporary composition take the most hours, but electronic music, experimental work, ambient and field recording together outweigh either of them — a side of the station its classical billing rather hides. Opera, free jazz, Gregorian chant and film music each hold a corner of the week, and Bach gets a strand that simply never ends.
The repertoire nobody else airs.
