Espeeera...
Quitando el polvo a la aguja…
Artists' radio on half a frequency since 1981.
It went on air in December 1981, weeks after the law that let French free radio exist at all, and artists have run it ever since — visual artists, set designers, filmmakers, musicians — with the co-president Philippe Pitet writing a weekly editorial that opens the station's week on air. It has never had a frequency to itself: 89.1 is shared with Booster FM, with a DAB+ channel alongside. Volunteers, a state fund for radio expression and a few local grants are all that keep it running.
About fifty shows fill the week. Fuzzorama and Dig Dig Digger work the garage and blues end, Metal Up Your Ass and Poutr'hell the heavy one, Nuff Love and Keep On Skanking the reggae, Hip Hop Flavor and Rhythm & Soul the beats, Electrostatic and Love is the Message the electronics, Plein Jazz the jazz. FMR Mixtapes and Naked City take whatever refuses to sit anywhere.
An anomaly, by its own account.
