Rijeka's crate-diggers: ex-Yu funk, disco, and dub.
It began as a joke between two friends in 2019. One had just come by a record player and hauled his boxes of vinyl — jazz, fusion, rock and ex-Yu funk — over to the other's flat, near the neighbourhood bar Teta Roža that gave the station its name; by the time he got home there was a logo and a page announcing a radio station. One of them worked at Ri Rock, the Rijeka association that keeps the city's alternative scene going, and the joke had a structure behind it within weeks.
It has run on two paid staff and about thirty more who turn up to make things — bands, DJs, producers — across some ten shows and podcasts that run from heavy metal to psytrance to a gaming hour. Between them the rotation leans on the records that started it, with Rijeka's own rock bands well represented in the mix, and a European grant has kept the lights on.
Your parents' records, vindicated.
