On air since December 2010, Dark Radio Brasil built itself as a shelter for the music the industry will not touch, and more than a hundred programmes and presenters have come through in the years since — musicians, photographers, journalists and label people scattered from São Paulo to Teresina, each running an hour on their own terms. The station has spilled off the air into the scene it covers, putting on Solstício Metal Fest and reviving Malefic Cold Weather, and it reviews new releases at the same pace.

Extreme metal is the core — death, black, thrash and doom — with SENTIMENTO UNDERGROUND holding the evening and the monthly Dark Live Crew sitting a Brazilian underground band down for an hour. Around them, LONDON CALLING brings classic rock from a Londoner who saw Deep Purple at Wembley in 1976, Cena 71 files from Salvador, and CÍRCULO DO HORROR trades records for ghost stories.
