Deep and organic house from a west-facing terrace.
The bar at Caló des Moro has faced west since 20 June 1980, when Carlos Andrea, José Les and Ramón Guiral opened it on a piece of the Sant Antoni coast chosen for the view, and the sunset has run the schedule there ever since. What José Padilla started in 1991 was never only ambient, because the hour after the sun goes is when the terrace fills up and the tempo has to answer for it. Volumen Uno in 1994 and the label in 1999 both carried that second half, and House is where it lives now.
This is the warm end of the three channels, above Chill and Calm, running deep house, organic and afro-leaning grooves, a little nu-disco and the melodic material Ibiza plays before anybody goes anywhere else. Vocals turn up more often here than on the other two, tempos stay conversational rather than club, and the whole thing is built for a terrace rather than a floor.
Dancing optional, swaying likely.
