Uplifting, reassuring electronics for the small hours.
Two of Bloop's four streams have no presenters at all, and this is the quieter one. The station is family-operated and independent, based at 42 Theobalds Road in Holborn and broadcasting since at least early 2016; alongside the channels carrying live London residents and overseas guests from a dozen countries, it keeps a pair of themed music-only streams running continuously. Channel 3 is the one built to be left on, and the only thing it asks of a listener is that they leave it there.
The brief Bloop wrote for it is to bathe the listener in eloquent, uplifting and peacefully reassuring sounds, which in practice means ambient, balearic and downtempo with nothing ever announced over the top. It is the gentlest end of the station's palette — the balearic hues kept back for slow mornings — and it sits under a room rather than filling it.
Comfort listening, no apology.
