Saint-Brieuc's Férarock station: hardcore to Antillean.
Founded in 1997 and broadcasting permanently on 101.9 since July 2007, it works out of Langueux, just along the bay from Saint-Brieuc, and covers the Pays de Saint-Brieuc from there. Membership of Férarock puts it in the company of France's independent music stations, and it spends the summer on the road with them: live from La Route du Rock, from the Mille festival, and from Tornaod Riddim, a micro reggae festival hidden away in the Breton countryside somewhere.
The rest of the year the grid divides by obsession. Activ Ton Core and War Ensemble take the heavy end, Studio Roots and Subtrack the dub and bass, Hip Hop Loves You the rap, Maudits Blues the blues, J'peux pas j'ai jazz the jazz, L'Heure Antillaise the Caribbean, Make It Funky the rest. La Session Live records bands in the studio, and daily strands carry local news around them.
Small town, big guitar bill.
