Brooklyn club radio: hip hop, house and jersey club.
Half Moon started in Brooklyn as more than a station: an independent music and media company that runs radio alongside events, editorial and workshops, now working out of New York and Los Angeles. The radio side has built past sixteen hundred shows, handed to residents who each take their own lane, and it spills off air regularly — a residency at the Ace Hotel, a live Dazed archive session, its own Anti Social Gala. The remit is emerging culture, wherever in the world it happens to be surfacing.
Hip hop and house carry the most hours, with techno, R&B and soul close behind, and the edges run to jersey club, footwork, jungle, grime, reggaeton and afrobeat. Kweku's Beats Without Borders, Cactus Traxx, Boys Meet World, The Playground and Radio Bhuna are among the regular slots, with Ana Roman, Paul Chin, Slic Unit and LFTONRED holding others of their own.
Whatever the block is playing.
