OFF BEAT opened in March 2023 in a small basement in the middle of Sofia, set up to hand airtime to Bulgarian artists and to whoever was passing through. The room doubles as the point of the thing: people come down for a drink, stay for whoever is on, and the station counts that as much a part of it as the broadcast. Within three years of opening the grid had filled with more than seventy resident shows, weekly fixtures through to monthly slots, each one credited to the person who makes it.

The weight is on bass, with Deep, Dark & Dangerous from Da Wobblinz the steadiest fixture, and on beats and rap through Hip-Hop Intersection, Filthy Ghetto Beats and Nasty Rap Sessions. Around them sit house and groove shows, a jazz slot, author's hours and plenty that refuses a label, from improvisation to weird noise. In summer, OFF BEACH broadcasts from the Black Sea coast.
