Pop and rock with the local support act first.
Equinoxe FM went on air in December 1989, set up with the Centre Liégeois d'Aide aux Jeunes and recognised by the French Community as a socio-cultural, independent and regional station — a status that still shapes it, since educators work alongside the presenters and School On Air hands the microphone to schoolchildren. It spent years on 100.1, carrying a Wednesday evening made by the students of 48FM, until the broadcasting council moved it to 105.0 in July 2019. The operator today is the PACTES association.
The format is pop-rock, and two hours are fixed before the city is properly awake: six o'clock is entirely French-language, seven o'clock entirely Belgian. Bands come into the studio each week for interviews and acoustic sets. Evenings go specialist — Metal Cover Heat and Tohu Bohu's brutal side at one end, Country Western Times and two hours of Easy Listening at the other.
Liège bands, before anyone else.
