De naald wordt afgestoft…
Experimental sound art on permanent shuffle from Copenhagen.
A foundation rather than a station: registered in 2015 and run by a community of Danish artists and radio producers with a small part-time staff behind them, out of Nørrebro. Tim Hinman, who built the documentary podcast Third Ear, sits on the board. The money comes from the Danish Arts Foundation, KODA's culture fund and a small Patreon, which is why nothing on air is sold and nobody is selling it — the rotation answers to the people who put records into it and to no one else.
New material arrives in batches, each one signed by whoever chose it, and the stream draws on the pool at random. An hour can run from devotional solo piano to fourth-world ambient, free jazz and a 1973 recording of the Whispering Gallery at St Paul's. Danish drone and electronic composers come round often, beside the hammered-dulcimer and new age pioneers.
Still waters, deep cuts.
