Eeeven...
De naald wordt afgestoft…
Czech alternative, plus an hour on anything else.
A group of enthusiasts set it up in 2008 to fill what they called the dead spots in the Czech airwaves — room for uncompromising genres and for subjects nobody else was touching. It has run non-commercially ever since out of the media studies and journalism department at Masaryk University's Faculty of Social Studies in Brno, and it stayed open in the literal sense: the hundred-odd active members include university students, secondary-school pupils and people with day jobs who simply wanted to make radio.
Dozens of podcasts carry most of it, and the range is deliberate — microplastics, internet safety, film, a Formula 1 show, sociologists and lawyers taking an hour each. The music end reviews the Czech and Slovak scene as it arrives, debut albums and new records alike, and every year Piknik Radia R puts young alternative bands on in the old prison on Bratislavská.
Anyone with a radio itch.
