Travis Holcombe spent eighteen years at KCRW, starting as a volunteer under Mario Cotto and taking his first shift in 2011 — Tuesday nights, midnight to three. He worked up through weekends and evenings until 2021, when the 8pm slot became Freaks Only: the acts he thought sat between the mainstream and college radio, with anything he did not personally like left off regardless of who was pushing it. He left the station during a restructuring in 2025 and rebuilt the show as a station of its own.

Three blocks carry the week. The Percolator runs weekday mornings, chilled and mostly familiar; Freak Parade holds the middle of the day and leans toward the floor; AUX OUT is the evening dance mix. Across all three the selection moves between house, disco edits, post-punk and club records from well outside the Anglophone canon, and Holcombe's voice comes in every twenty to forty minutes.
