Two lifelong friends who go by DougInfinity and Walter Ego started Pretty Good Radio in 2022, on the premise that somebody picking records by hand still beats a recommendation engine. Doug does the digging and calls himself a defender of the deep cut; Walter handles the funk end of things. The flagship is The Punchbowl, a weekly live show where the pair talk over the records and hand the selection to a guest when one turns up, and every episode lands in an archive with its playlist attached.

The rotation is 1960s garage and psych, power pop, surf instrumentals, ska, deep soul and blues, with zydeco, Balkan brass, Cape Verdean morna and French pop dropped in unannounced, so a sixties garage band can run straight into deep soul, exotica and raw Chicago blues. Nothing gets on for being charted, and the whole thing is paid for by the people who listen to it.
