Jukebox rock and roll through to the disco years.
Pinguin Vintage has one rule the other streams do not, every record on it has to be at least forty years old, so the window simply moves forward a year every year. That makes it the odd one out in a family that began in 2011 with an indie station built by people from the old Kink FM and still centred on new music and new talent. Like the other Pinguin channels it is picked by someone who knows the period well, and it runs around the clock without presenters or ad breaks, paid for by listener donations and sponsorship.
In practice that means the fifties through the early eighties, rock and roll and the British beat groups at one end and soft rock, disco and the polished album rock of the late seventies at the other, with Motown and sixties soul running through the middle. Dutch beat and prog bands from the same years turn up regularly too, alongside the American singer-songwriters of the early seventies.
