Jungle, garage and leftfield from an Athens listening circle.
Parea is the Greek word for the circle of friends you keep, and the station takes it literally: an Athens platform where a show counts as a document of a moment and a scene rather than a piece of content. Anyone can propose one through a form on the site, and the money arrives as one-off donations and paying members, which is what keeps the door open to people with no studio behind them. The roster it has built that way runs from Athens and Chalkida out to Berlin, Limassol, Lisbon, Madrid and Brooklyn.
Unstable Elixir runs jungle and UK garage into bassline, breakbeat and world groove. Sonic Radiant takes IDM, industrial, EBM and electro; Ré Filé sets deep techno beside drum and bass, dub and jazz; be PLUS works acid, disco and house; Exhume is schranz and peak-time techno; and CDs burned for friends drifts through dark wave, ethnic folk and hip-hop.
Radio as practice, not output.
