Quitando el polvo a la aguja…
Club sets and library music from downtown São Paulo.
Veneno started in 2018 in downtown São Paulo, out of an attempt to pull the city's scattered cultural initiatives into one place, and it has run around the clock ever since. It calls itself an independent electronic music platform, which undersells the range a little: the station also books gigs and stages events, largely so that the people holding its slots have somewhere to play. Residency is the organising principle, and a show here is a standing commitment rather than a guest spot.
Lab has passed fifteen hundred episodes, Aspirin-Mint two hundred, and Sessão do Malungo a hundred. Library Music is Mauricio Avila's monthly dig through library records and obscurities of every era; Jet/Lag FM sends two brothers across the radio spectrum; and Baile Mutante and Tied to the 90s hold down the club end. Vetor Mag, Radio Buero and 2step Mafia Brasil recur alongside them.
One show has 1,599 episodes.
